Do any body know how to make dreadlocks in your hair in rastafarian or in Sadhu style....i like to do my hairs in that way but now the days i m suffring from hair fall i dont know wether i would be able to make my hairs in that way or not(how we treat hair at the time of dreadlock when it suffer from dendruff or something else),tell your views about rastafarian style dreadlocks.

Bulgarian ambient/psy trance cassette, need help!!!!

Hello,

A decade and more ago, I got a cassette from a friend featuring some Bulgarian ambient/psy trance music. The cassette was unlabeled and I do not remember the name of the artists or the tracks therein, it was a long time ago. Recently, I found the cassette and played it, and was amazed at the plethora of splendid patterns and sounds utilized in the songs. This is, perhaps, one of the best compilation of ambient tracks I've ever heard.

Some of the songs feature some lyrics. In one of them there is a male voice repeating the phrase, "Bulgarian folklore, Bulgarian life." Another there is a female voice seeming to repeat what is the word "Goiko" or something like that.

I wish I could give some more information to identify maybe the two songs above. Could anyone help me?

BULGARIAN WOMEN's HARMONIES: a question

Can anyone tell me what
those beautiful modal harmonies are being used
in Bulgarian tradtiional women's singing groups.

I'm referring to the harmonies used on that classic early
recording of Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares.

Someone told me that they are using 2nds for their harmonies but I can't tell whether
they are parallel 2nds or not.

Does anyone in the tribe have that knowledge?

I'd be very grateful. I"m doing a lot of acapella singing in my live looping/found sound performances
and I'd love to incorporate some of that style of harmony wiht some of the Central African Pygmy yodelling
styles (throwing in some Tuvan and Tibetan overtone singing and a little bit of Faux Industrial Beatboxing for good measure :-)

Apart from the last two years, we’ll concentrate our efforts on saving Vitosha’s forest which is endangered since tornado blew out 400 hectares of forest in 2001. Since then the "Ips Typographus" beetle which is normally part of the ecosystem, has overpopulated, and destroyed more than 800 hectares of forest.
“Earthdance 2006 Sofia” starts a campaign to gather resources for resolving the problem and making this issue a hot topic for the society. All the money that the festival will gather will be given for reforestation under the supervision of “National Park Vitosha”.

Besides the music line up, workshops and seminars will take place, concerning topics of ecology, as well as music and photography studios.
Brochures will be distributed and info stands will be created at the festival site, which will help for a better understanding of the ecology problems of Vitosha.
At the current moment official support has been given from: Vesela Letcheva - consecutivedirector of ”The National Agency of Youth and Sports”, Sofia Municipality, National Park “Vitosha”, Regional Inspectorate of Eccology and Environmental Issues, “State Forestry Sofia”, and the following NGO’s “YartZ”, “Za Zemiata”, “Pazete Bulgaria Chista” and cultural centre”Green House”, as well as over thirty volunteers who stated their wish to join the team.
By internet connection “Earthdance Sofia” will be able to send and receive audio/video signal with the simultaneous happening parties worldwide. A website will be created specially for the
event, giving wide range of information about the event and the ecological campaign.
All precautions about environmental issues are being taken, with the supervision of the authorities, so that Vitosha Mountain will not be affected in any way. For the aim trash bins will be installed for separate junk collection. A massive campaign for cleaning the area will take place on 18, 19 and 20th of September with the support of a network of volunteers.

Yo....looking for any help/advice.

I released my debut album, "Music Made For You...And By You I Mean Me," on the Nottingham, UK based label em:t records, and planned to release my second album, "Unifactor" on em:t, but I was informed last week that the label can no longer afford to release albums. I have retained all the rights to the music, so I basically have 2 albums to offer, with a third album on the way this fall.

The music itself, is kind of an ambient/experimental/idm hybrid, a mixture of swirling ambience and heavily-layered rhythms.

Both of my albums are mastered and have artwork. The first album was released as "1104" on em:t records and was distributed through Arabesque in the UK and is sold on Itunes. 1104 sold out of its initial pressing of 1000, and overall received extremely good reviews.

I take a completely improvised approach to my live performances, so each show is unique and recorded for archival purposes. Right now, alot of my live material is "research" for my next album, called "Terramecha."

I am also very interested in doing remix work, and have done a few remixes in the past.

You can also download my Ween Mega-mix, Stallion 3000. I used something like 70 ween tunes to make an "orginal" piece of music. It's funny.

Unifactor should be out around April or so, so you should prolly think now about considering to buy it, or at least start showing some signs of anticipation.

I had an idea on the subway last night. New Years Eve has the enormous potential to be a sychronzizing agent for collective prayer. Please spread the word: New Years Eve 12 am 5 mins before and 5 mins after, please keep a prayer in your mind. At that time, maybe we can all pray for a general common dream like For the Earth to Keep Moving Towards Balance. This can be personalized in any way. Do you have some sort of ftp program like Flash FXP or Total Commander?. Well, you CAN use your browser too. :)

The first link is the root of the ftp, the second link is to the demo compilations directory. Download Demo or Die (all 3 of them). Full DvD size so you better have a fast connection to even think of to get those demos. Download and then burn the dvd in Alcohol 120% or Nero.

They seems to have used the most powerful hardware you can get (especially on "demo or die vol 3" from 2005), the music is also stunning.

everywhere she is mentioned together with deities, but she is more likely to be one of the essential elements - earth. Different deities are personifications of its states and functions - like goddess Makosh is mistress of moist soil and respectively of agricultural abundace.People payed great honour to Mati Zemlya, because of her vital significance for the ancient agriculturing Slavic communities. Harvest was up to her, so food and survival denepended on her too. Earth also provides eternal asylum for the mortal remains of people. I.e. man was directly dependent on Mati Zemlya through all his life and beyond the death, as the material state of the dead body affects the state of the deceased soul. There are obvious paralles between Slavic Mother-Earth and the Hellenic Geya or Nordic Jord (read Yiord), both whos names mean "Earth". Mati Zemlya is wife of the progenitor god, Svarog. This is Slavic equivalent of the wide spread in many mythologies heathen idea for sacral divine marriage between Earth and Sky. We find the very same idea among ancient Greeks - between Geya (Earth) and Uranos (Sky); in Kemetic (ancient Egyptian) mythology - between the earth Gheb (male personification) and the sky Nut (female personification); and even among the native tribes of the far East, of Middle and Eastern Siberia.

This is a little 20 minute mix made for a nashville radio show, and all the material is made up from various live shows in 2004. The first 15 minutes is sort of a mash-up of various tunes, including sixes, pigs in space, and coprock. The set ends with an ambient piece called calibrations.

It's really quite a good listen!

Behind the name Solros are Ani (19) and Vladi (Sandal Wood, 21), both coming from Sofia, Bulgaria. They have been into trance music since 1999-2000. Step by step their interest grows and in 2002 they start taking part in the organization of trance parties mainly with decorations, while they make their first attempts at mixing.

The project itself has been existing since September, 2003, when they collaborated for the first time behind the decks in `Deep Down` club (Sofia). Two months later the idea for their own independently organised party was born, as well as the name, which means ‘sunflower’ in Swedish. ‘For us the sunflower symbolises the positive energy, the one that we create for ourselves and that we want to spread further to the other people through our music and decorations.’

The first party organised by Solros is `The Temple of Imagination` (January 2004, Sofia, `Tri Ushi` club). Its concept combines a more specialized direction in trance music – progressive trance and ample decoration, based on 3D objects made in collaboration with FlameArt. Guest acts are Zizo and Radiant (live). A second party follows – ‘Celestial Journey’ in March 2004 in ‘No` club. This time the style frames were broadened by the new guests: Flange (live), Alex Metchev and Tag (Magrathea), the decoration again was in accord with the idea, implied in the name of the party. Other projects by them are the music-cultural open-air ‘City Bliss’, organized together with Georgi Petrov (Isterix) in the beginning of August 2004 in SPS club (Sofia), as well as the first ever in Bulgaria ‘Earthdance’ party – The Global Festival for Peace, in September 2004 (together with Magrathea).

They have also taken part in many other events, such as: ‘Vivid Dreams’ parties, Psy Jurka (Tranzition), Deep Air, Underground U:nited, Mati Zemlya open-air, the chill-out zone for the parties with Son Kite, Peter Didjital, Stefan Ludley by HeadonEast, at the main stage next to Sally Doolally, Edoardo, Atmos, Yahel, Astrix; Vladi has played at a couple of parties in Germany and Sweden too. The kind of music that can be expected from them at parties ranges between flowing progressive and psy-progressive, as well as melodic psy trance, but their music taste is quite open – chill-out, breakbeat, progressive house, psy & tech trance. Ani also makes vocals, she has taken part in the live performances by Radiant (the live project by the formation Magrathea), as well as in the recording of some tracks produced by them.

Ani and Vladi have been inspired by artists like Ticon, Son Kite, Vibrasphere, Shaman, Tegma, FreQ, Phony Orphants, Antix, Element, Haldolium, Andromeda, Cosma, Infected Mushroom and many many more, by labels like Digital Structures, Spiral Trax, Iboga, Plusquam Records, Yellow Sunshine Explosion, Midijum, Com.Pact, Plastic Park and others. They have also gathered ideas from the international trance festivals they had visited : VooV (Germany), Samothraki Dance Festival (Greece), Boom (Portugal).

Kliment and Philip have worked together for more than six years.

"Samodelia" was one of their first projects. During that time (2002-2003) they were working with two friends, creating different musical symbols varying from ambient atmospheres to psychadelic delights. Along with other musicians, they experimented into electro- acoustic sounds. Samodelia participated in a lot of indoor and open-air events and opened the main stage on XPO2002 international trance festival, which took place at Pchelina Lake (Bulgaria).

Deeper revelations involved more serious vision about live act performances and sound. The result was – "Mana". Concentrating more on playing live, highlighting the interactive relationship between all elements- audience, venue and music.

They have continued participating in various events all around Bulgaria including The Longest Night and Longest Day as part of the Solarstates parties, the Vortex Open Air Festival, the Convent Open Air Festival and other musical events.

New sonic inspirations and emerging need for traveling around the world resolved in project "Disham" (2004). The acknwoledgment to the new ambient-tunes came immediately: they played live on Boomfestival in Portugal and released a track on the Ambient-Boom compilation (Vagalume Records). In the summer of 2004 they played in several open air trance-parties in Hungary, and on the world-famous Sziget-Festival's Cökszpõn Ambient Stage.

2005 brings them a growing interest from the international trance scene, invitation to Ozora and No Man's Land Festivals in Hungary, both on mainstage, a track-release and a label-party in Munster, Germany, made by Mindsound Records.

Disham likes nature walks and open-air sound.

Vataff Project and Victors Mob - the artist!

"Vataff Project" is a mix of a electronic music basis, electronic beat and traditional bulgarian instruments and visual performance. The project has its own and specific sound although it contains elements of psychedelic-techno, triphop, ambient. Musicians explore by combining the acoustic sound of bagpipe, kaval, percussion, vocals with analogue synthesis, their common soundings and impacts. The music of "Vataff" leads to profound feelings of ecstasy, dance and ritual which come from the ancient times, the present and the future. The permanent development and evolution of sound, the search for states going beyond the field of matrix forms and images are basic tendencies set in the project's idea.

Naria Inri Magaria- juggling & experimental performances

Naria Inri Magaria is a group of young artists, concerned with fire juggling and experimental performances. It is initiated by Maria Nikolova, Maria Slavova and Sasha Hadjieva and it functions as an open artistic project.

They create unforgettable visual spectacles, constantly changing the choreography and using different techniques and effects. They always experiment new dimensions and mix diverse body techniques and styles. In their shows they use several instruments such as fire fingers, ropes, chains/poi/, torchers staffs, double staffs, fans, fire-crowns, special masks and costumes, fire installations and sculptures.

Naria Inri Magaria has several years of experience in stage and street performance, as well as club and festival performances in Bulgaria and abroad (Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia, Kosovo, Samothraki Dance Festival in Greece, Boomfestival in Portugal). They often collaborate with other artists - musicians, costume and set designers, vj-s, technicians and performers from different countries.

Gain Reduction- psytech artists

Gain Reduction are Venzi Stoev and Angel Dimitrov from Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

The are working together in different music project since 98, and before that they've worked separately on grind core and death metal projects. Both of them graduated Plovdiv's Music Academy - with subject classical guitar. They are fascinated by the sound of electronic music in the end of the 90s.
A little later they began to work as Gain Reduction and since then they are one of the leading acts in the bulgarian trance scene.

They are participating in an unofficial organisation PsyTech Team which popularizes the electronic music in Bulgaria, and also maintains an internet trance portal - Psy.Cult.BG . In the moment Gain Reduction are working hard, they are taking part in many parties in Bulgaria with dj sets and live acts.
